How to add the Gateway to the care appUpdated 2 months ago
Hello! In this article you will learn how to add our Gateway to the cuid app.
Before we start, we remind you that this gateway is for your cuid sensors such as the Magnetic Door Sensor, cuid Motion Detection Sensor, cuid Smoke Detection Sensor or cuid CO Detection Sensor to connect to the network, so you can find out everything through the cuid app and so our monitors can be aware of what is happening according to your preferences.
Now, we explain how to install it and get it operational in 5 simple steps:
Step 1:
Place the Gateway in a strategic interior location in your home, ideally in the same space where your router is, with a maximum of two rooms away from the space where you will place your sensors, to ensure interference-free communication.
The connectivity range of the gateway is well extended and covers up to 70 meters (depending on how much interference there is in this range in your property) ensuring that your smart home network is robust and reliable, but keep in mind that this varies depending on the conditions of each property.
Step 2:
Open the cuid app, press the + button and in the Add Device section, and add the Gateway by pressing on cuid Essential Gateway on the screen where all the devices appear:
Step 3:
Connect the gateway to the power supply, press the power button located on the top of the Gateway, and when the blue LED light flashes slowly, it means that the device is now ready to connect with the app.
Step 5: Go to the WIFI settings and click + Add Wi-Fi.

Step 6: Connect the gateway to the SmartLife - xxx network.
Now, connect the gateway to the SmartLife - xxx network and press confirm to terminate the connection to the app.
Do not leave the screen while the app is pairing the device:

Step 7:
Now that the Gateway has been successfully added to the app, you must configure which Members to share it with, and then assign it to an area of the property from the ones you already have configured; in the image below, you will see for example the option to assign it to the Living Room area, but you can choose the area you want, always taking into account the aspects mentioned at the beginning of the article.
Step 8-Connecting devices to the Gateway
The app will now display which sensors are available to connect to the Gateway. Choose the relevant ones - i.e. the ones you already have installed - and press Connect.
Step 9- Configuring the Gateway functions in the app
Within the app, you can configure your gateway as you wish, choosing for example the color of the light and the volume of the notifications,
You can also configure which notifications you want to receive, and in what format, about what happens with all the devices connected to the Gateway.
How to restart the Gateway
If the app does not show a pop-up window, you need to reboot the device. This is done by holding down the main button until you hear the device is rebooted and see the blue LED flashing. Now yes, you will see the pop-up window in the app and continue with the pairing process as instructed there.
Our gateway has the ability to support up to 30 devices simultaneously, with connection to Zigbee, Mesh, WiFi (2.4GHz) and Bluetooth systems.
